Berkshire Agricultural Ventures

Strengthening Local Farms Through Community Support

Wild Oats Market is proud to partner with Berkshire Agricultural Ventures (BAV) - a nonprofit dedicated to supporting local farmers, expanding food access, and building a resilient regional food system.

Thanks to our shoppers, Every Penny Counts truly lived up to its name. Together, we raised $2,277.49 for BAV to strengthen local farms and increase access to fresh, local food across the Berkshires in March 2026.

BAV also recently received two federal USDA grants to help connect Berkshire-area farmers with institutions including local schools, colleges, hospitals, and correctional facilities. These investments are major steps toward a stronger, more sustainable regional food system.

Your spare change can make a big difference at checkout. When you round up for the Fighting Hunger in the Berkshires Initiative, your donation supports Goodwill Industries of the Berkshires and Southern Vermont, Inc. in their effort to pay for a delivery truck that will bring food directly to local pantries. This truck will help distribute up to 9,000 pounds of food in every run, ensuring that our neighbors across Northern Berkshire County don’t go to bed hungry.
