Wild Oats Donates $2,277.49 to Berkshire Agricultural Ventures Through Every Penny Counts

This week, Netse, our General Manager, delivered a check for $2,277.49 to Audrey from Berkshire Agricultural Ventures, representing every round‑up donation made at Wild Oats Market during March through Every Penny Counts.
Your generosity directly supports local farms, food producers, and increased access to fresh, local food across the Berkshires.
BAV is also celebrating exciting news: they recently received two federal USDA grants to help connect Berkshire-area farmers with institutions like local schools, colleges, prisons, and hospitals - a major step toward strengthening regional food systems and expanding access to nutritious, locally grown food.

Their Market Match Fund specifically supports SNAP matching programs at Berkshire-area farmers markets in order to increase the availability of fresh, local food and create stronger livelihoods for local farmers. They currently support 10 local farmers markets, including Williamstown and North Adams in the Northern Berkshires.
BAV was founded in 2017 in order to support farmers, protect farmland, increase local food access, and strengthen our local economy. They are based in Great Barrington, MA, and they work with farms and food businesses in the tristate area of MA, CT, and NY.
