Northern Berkshire Habitat for Humanity

Thank You, Northern Berkshire Community!

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Northern Berkshire Community for your generous donations to Northern Berkshire Habitat for Humanity through Wild Oats Market’s Every Penny Counts program in March 2024. It is with immense honor that we share our recent endeavor: delivering a symbolic check to support this vital cause.

Your kindness rings throughout our community, touching lives and fostering positive change. Every cent contributed in March 2024 ($2,456.87) will be directed toward our next project: a subdivision for five affordable houses located off Summer Street in Williamstown, MA. Each house will carry a deed restriction, ensuring its continued status as an affordable home.

If you aspire to become a recipient of one of these affordable houses, please reach out to their office between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM at (413) 664-4440.

Together, we forge a brighter future, anchored in community support and compassion.

NORTHERN BERKSHIRE HABITAT FOR HUMANITY is a local non-profit actively working to fulfill Habitat’s vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.  Volunteers partner with lower-income families to build a home that the family can own and call home.

NORTHERN BERKSHIRE HABITAT FOR HUMANITY is affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International, founded in 1976. We partner with lower-income families to build houses that the families can call home and can own with an affordable mortgage.  We empower our home owners to become rooted members of the community, providing security to enable families to grow and prosper. Founded in 1990, Northern Berkshire Habitat for Humanity has been working to meet the housing needs of Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, Florida, New Ashford, North Adams, Savoy, Williamstown, and Stamford, VT. Our major projects include building new homes and renovating existing houses. As of today, Northern Berkshire Habitat has completed 14 home buildings or renovations, serving 14 families and an estimated 68 people, including parents, children and foster children. We have also performed seven Brush With Kindness critical repair or ramp projects impacting 12 people, and run a special program for Veterans. With the support of Habitat volunteer builders and financial contributors, homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance needed to build a better life for themselves and their families. We are currently working on a house on Maple St in Williamstown, to be completed this fall.  Our next houses are planned for Summer St in Williamstown, on land that the Williamstown Affordable Housing Trust bought for this purpose.

Thank you for your support in helping us help the local area in need!
