MEET US - Grocery Department Food Allergy Tip June 2023
Wild Oats Market is a socially responsible co-op serving our Berkshire County community shoppers since 1982!
Anyone can shop and support the community. We offer 1000 select items from local vendors with offerings pertaining to specialty, organic, sustainable items and more! While shopping in the store you may find our team preparing foods, packaging products and restocking shelves while servicing our guests.
In the event you require assistance, please ask any of our teammates for help. It’s easy to reach our personal, friendly and knowledgeable staff between 8 am to 8 pm, 7 days a week. We have many members of our grocery team managed by our Grocery Manager, Rob. His efforts are supported by Katie, our Grocery Supervisor, and Tiffany, the Dairy Buyer (in addition to others).

What is a food allergy? Per the Mayo Clinic -
"A food allergy is an immune system reaction that occurs soon after eating a certain food. Even a tiny amount of the allergy-causing food can trigger signs and symptoms such as digestive problems, hives or swollen airways. In some people, a food allergy can cause severe symptoms or even a life-threatening reaction known as anaphylaxis."
These are the nine types of food that account for most food allergies:
