Williamstown Farmers Market

Honoring Community Impact with the Williamstown Farmers Market (WFM)

On Thursday, July 30, Wild Oats presented the Williamstown Farmers Market with a check for $2,328.26, raised through shopper donations during our June 2026 Every Penny Counts round-up program.

Our General Manager, Netse, joined Williamstown Farmers Marketboard membersMarian Madden and Miriam Phisterer for the check delivery. It was a meaningful reminder of what can happen when shoppers choose to round up at the register. Small contributions add up, and in this case, they helped support programs that make fresh, local food more accessible while also strengthening local farms.

Funds raised will support the Williamstown Farmers Market’sProduce Buy-Back program that provides local food banks in Williamstown and North Adams with fresh vegetables, fruit, bread, cheese, and eggs, all grown by local farmers, bakers, and cheese makers. By supporting our Produce Buy-Back program, your donation helps to strengthen and maintain our essential local food system by directly supporting farmers and artisans. It's a full circle step toward food justice.

Their access programs currently include:

Produce Buy-Back - fresh produce purchased from local farmers and delivered to area food pantries
Senior Coupons - matching support to help seniors stretch their food dollars
WIC Coupons - matching support for WIC participants
SNAP Matching - matching support for SNAP shoppers

Thank you to everyone who rounded up in June. Your generosity helped nourish families, support local growers, and strengthen food access right here in our community.

The Williamstown Farmers Market (WFM) activates a central community gathering space that facilitates the connection between local food producers and artisan craft vendors.

The WFM's Community Essentials Initiative ensures that fresh, healthy food can be accessed by those in the community experiencing food insecurity through SNAP, WIC, Senior Coupons, matching programs which double amount that card holders can purchase, and a produce-buy-back program that supports farmers by purchasing leftover produce and eggs and delivering them to local food pantries.

Help Us Nourish Our Community

At the co-op, we believe that fresh, local food should be within reach for everyone. That’s why we’re proud to support the Williamstown Farmers Market’s Community Essentials Initiative—a powerful program that doubles SNAP, WIC, and Senior Coupons and delivers fresh produce to local food pantries. If you’d like to join us in making a real difference, more donations can be made here.

Every gift helps neighbors help neighbors.
