Last week we had the honor of delivering a $1,926.10 check to the Williamstown Farmers Market in support of their Community Essentials Initiative. Thanks to every penny you rounded up at the co-op in July, they’re able to fund about 5 to 6 weeks of the Produce Buy-Back program—purchasing surplus produce and eggs from local growers and donating them to area food pantries to ensure fresh, healthy food reaches neighbors in need.

The Williamstown Farmers Market (WFM) activates a central community gathering space that facilitates the connection between local food producers and artisan craft vendors.
The WFM's Community Essentials Initiative ensures that fresh, healthy food can be accessed by those in the community experiencing food insecurity through SNAP, WIC, Senior Coupons, matching programs which double amount that card holders can purchase, and a produce-buy-back program that supports farmers by purchasing leftover produce and eggs and delivering them to local food pantries.
