A Member Of Our Team Has Tested Positive

The following message was sent to our email list on Saturday:

On Friday afternoon our staff and Board of Directors were notified that a member of our Produce team has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee last worked in the store on Wednesday, following all established safety guidelines during that shift. Upon experiencing symptoms on Wednesday morning, the teammate entered quarantine and pursued testing.

In addition, via CDC guidelines, we've identified three other teammates as close contacts. These individuals are currently in quarantine and will return to work after five days of symptom-free isolation and a negative COVID-19 test result. We will continue to monitor this situation in close coordination with our local health inspector, Jeff Kennedy, and take all appropriate actions as directed by the latest CDC guidelines.

To date, this is our third positive case. We safely navigated the first two cases and all of our efforts are aimed at another positive resolution. Longstanding workplace protocols are being followed and are in place to keep our staff and customers safe in situations like this, but it's an excellent reminder this virus continues to be a constant daily presence in all of our lives.

As always, we ask our shoppers to please follow all possible precautions for entering public spaces like ours, such as shopping alone, wearing a mask, practicing social distancing, making use of the many hand sanitizer stations around the store and taking advantage of our weekday curbside pickup option.

Please direct any questions or concerns to our General Manager, Netse Lytle, at (413) 458-5317 x13 or gm@wildoats.coop
