In the month of June, Wild Oats’ new Round Up For Change program generated $1,975.21 for the all-volunteer organization, Hoosac Harvest, which subsidizes CSA shares for low-income residents of Northern Berkshire County.
Customers were given the option of rounding up their total purchases to the next whole dollar amount, with all of the funds collected going directly to Hoosac Harvest. Kathy Keeser, Lee Venolia and Francesca Olsen (pictured) visited the store on Thursday to officially receive the donation check on behalf of the organization.
The program continues this month with the Berkshire Food Project, which has provided free healthy meals, social interaction and connection to local services/resources to anyone who needs them since 1987. July’s donation will help offset the many additional costs of operating under the new pandemic guidelines.
