Innis & Gunn, a Scottish beer, was originally developed as a way of flavoring the barrels used by distiller William Grant for its ale cask reserve whisky. The original plan was for the beer to be discarded after it had flavored the barrel,
Then, some inquisitive souls at the distillery sampled the beer after its time in casks, and found that the beer had been transformed by the oak into an unusually refined brew.
The brewers describe Innis & Gunn Original as a “smooth Scottish beer with hints of toffee, vanilla and oak.” Come try for yourself – we will be hosting an Innis & Gunn Tasting on September 27 from 4-6 pm. A beer with the depth to take you through the dark months.
